KC
KC began his obsession with movement at an early age when he got his first bike and recklessly rode through Rouge National Park in Toronto. He eventually refined this kinetic energy into classical ballet and modern dance at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and Ryerson Theatre School. His teaching and choreographic style is heavily influenced by his collaborations with Peggy Baker Dance Projects and Dancetheatre David Earle as well as many independent choreographers including Marie Lambin-Gagnon, Darryl Tracey, Alyssa Martin, and Sashar Zarif. He completed Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher training at Downward Dog Yoga Studio in Toronto. You can still find KC shredding the streets on his bicycle and working on choreography for his solo dance project called Krishnamoon Dance.
Jerin (Jaya) Banghart
Jerin started his Martial Arts journey in 1997 at 5 years old. Kung Fu Movies and Power Rangers sparked his interest and Jerin’s parents decided to enroll him in Sanchin Karate. Throughout late middle school and high school, he explored Karate, Kata and Weapon forms and Boxing. Jerin started training MMA as a teenager and discovered the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2009. Soon after graduating from military school, he began his Jiu-Jitsu training under Master Carlos “Caique” Elias under the guidance of Kevin Lambert and Don Richard at Holly BJJ Club, Mash Gym, and Warrior Way Martial Arts. Jerin received Blue Belt in 2012 from Master Caique. In 2017, he began training at Atos Michigan under Ronaldo Candido and earned his Purple Belt in 2018. Jerin has had the opportunity to teach at several schools across Michigan and has competed and won several regional, state, and international titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. One of Jerin’s main focuses in martial arts is teaching and studying self-defense, for men, women, and children.
Outside of martial arts, Jerin is a husband and father of two children and works at a local community Eco Farm Project just outside of Ypsi, called Goloka Eco Farm.
